What it is

True lavender — Lavandula angustifolia — is the most beloved essential oil in the world, steam-distilled from the purple flowering tops grown in high, sunny fields. Humans have tucked it into linens, baths, and balms for thousands of years; the very word comes from the Latin “to wash.”

Why we use it

Lavender is how we tell the body the day is over. We use it sparingly and deliberately — in the evening body balm made for winding down, and in our scalp serum where its gentle floral softens rosemary's herbaceousness. A scent can be part of a ritual's work: one slow breath of lavender while pressing balm into tired arms does something no ingredient list can capture.

What it offers your skin

A calm, restful aromatic experience that signals wind-down. Gentle compatibility — true lavender is among the most skin-tolerant of all essential oils when properly diluted, as ours always is. And a timeless association with rest that turns an evening application into a small ceremony.
