Petitgrain

The Ingredient Library · Essential Oils & Aromatics

What it is

Petitgrain is the green twig cousin of neroli, distilled from the leaves and small branches of the same bitter orange tree. Where neroli captures the flowers, petitgrain captures the green stems. The result is a brighter, more herbal, slightly woody aroma that smells like an orange grove in the morning.

Why we use it

Because petitgrain pairs beautifully with neroli, and the two together carry First Light from the floral side into the green side. In our body serum, petitgrain adds clarity and lift to the herbal backbone of the formula. It is the kind of essential oil that does not announce itself, but the formula would be flatter without it.

What it offers your skin

A green, slightly herbal aroma that brings clarity to floral blends. A traditional companion in perfumery that bridges flowers and leaves. The lift that makes a complex blend feel alive.
