Bergamot FCF
The Ingredient Library · Essential Oils & Aromatics
What it is
Bergamot is the small green citrus fruit that gives Earl Grey tea its distinctive aroma. The essential oil is cold-pressed from the peel and carries one of the brightest, most cheerful citrus scents in the natural world. FCF stands for furocoumarin-free, which means the compounds that can make citrus sensitive to sunlight have been removed, so the oil is safe to wear during the day.
Why we use it
Because First Light needed a sunny note. Bergamot brings the cheerful brightness of morning to the formula in a way that neroli and petitgrain can support but not provide alone. The FCF version means our customers can wear First Light in daylight without worry.
What it offers your skin
A bright, sunny citrus aroma that signals daylight. A traditional companion in perfumery for over three centuries. A daylight-safe formulation, the cheerful smell of morning.
