Kukui Nut Oil
The Ingredient Library · Botanical & Seed Oils
What it is
Kukui nut oil is pressed from the nut of the kukui tree, the official tree of Hawaii. For thousands of years, Polynesian women have used kukui on their faces, their bodies, their hair, and on newborn skin. The oil is so light it absorbs almost instantly, which is part of why it earned its place in tropical skincare culture where heavy oils were never welcome.
Why we use it
Because we wanted a body serum that absorbs without residue. Kukui is one of the most quickly-absorbing oils in our cabinet, which makes it a perfect partner for the botanicals in Rooted, the body treatment serum that asks to be massaged in completely before the day begins.
What it offers your skin
A fast-absorbing, virtually weightless presence. A traditional companion for skin conditioned by humid climates. The right finish for body serums that need to disappear, not linger.
