Neroli
The Ingredient Library · Essential Oils & Aromatics
What it is
Neroli essential oil is steam-distilled from the white flowers of the bitter orange tree. The blossoms bloom briefly each spring and must be harvested by hand at dawn, which is part of why neroli is among the most expensive florals on the market. The aroma is bright, hopeful, and slightly bitter, exactly like an orange blossom smells in a garden at sunrise.
Why we use it
Because First Light is our morning body balm, and we wanted it to smell the way a good morning feels. Neroli is the scent of optimism in oil form, the kind of fragrance that has been used in Italian and French perfumery for centuries to signal new beginnings and weddings and beautiful starts.
What it offers your skin
A precious morning-floral aroma that feels like the start of something. A traditional companion in formulas built for daylight hours. The hopeful, bright character of an orange blossom at dawn.
