Cedarwood

The Ingredient Library · Essential Oils & Aromatics

What it is

Cedarwood essential oil is steam-distilled from the wood and bark of various cedar trees, most commonly Atlas cedar from Morocco or Virginia cedar from the eastern United States. The aroma is grounding, forest-like, dry, and quietly serious in the traditional perfumery sense. It has been used in skincare and traditional wellness for thousands of years.

Why we use it

Because cedarwood has a long association with hair and scalp care. Traditional Mediterranean and Native American practices have used cedar for hair, and it brings a grounding forest depth to our Radiant Root Hair and Scalp Serum that pairs beautifully with the other plant oils in the formula.

What it offers your skin

A grounding, forest-like aroma. A traditional companion for hair and scalp across multiple cultures. The dry woody note that anchors a botanical hair formula.
