Sandalwood & Amyris

What it is
Sandalwood is the famously revered wood of the Indian sandalwood tree, known for its warm, milky, slightly sweet aroma that has been used in skincare, perfumery, and traditional practices for over three thousand years. Amyris is sometimes called West Indian sandalwood and offers a similar warm woody character at a more sustainable cost. We use both in our Golden Hour balm.
Why we use it
Because warmth grounds rose. The floral character of Rose Glow and Golden Hour needs a counterweight to keep the formulas from being too sweet. Sandalwood and amyris together provide the deep, grounded base note that gives these balms their seriousness. They are the woods underneath the flowers.
What it offers your skin
A warm, grounding woody base for floral formulas. A traditional companion across three continents and three thousand years. The serious note that earns the right to be sweet.
