Blue Tansy

What it is
Blue tansy is a Moroccan flower — yellow in the field, astonishingly indigo in the bottle. Steam distillation transforms a compound in the petals into chamazulene, the deep blue pigment that gives this rare essential oil both its color and its calm reputation. It takes a great many flowers to make a few drops, which is why blue tansy is one of the most precious oils we buy.
Why we use it
Stressed-looking skin needs an ingredient that whispers rather than shouts. Blue tansy is that whisper — we use it in trace amounts where skin tends to feel reactive or look flushed: in our evening serum, our blemish-prone balm, and the delicate eye area. A drop or two per formula is all it asks.
What it offers your skin
A calmer, more comfortable feel for skin that gets stressed. Support for the look of even, settled tone. A soft herbal-sweet scent that signals wind-down. And that unmistakable whisper of blue — nature's own label of authenticity.
