What it is
Beeswax (Cera alba) is the natural wax honeybees produce to build their honeycomb. Warm and golden with a faint honeyed scent, it has been used in balms, salves and skin preparations for thousands of years. It is one of the oldest structure-builders in all of skincare.
Why we use it
Because a rescue balm needs to stay where you put it. Beeswax gives our Skin Rescue balm its body and lays down a light, breathable layer over the skin, so the botanicals sit and do their work on the spot that needs them rather than sliding away.
