Let's Talk Tallow and Texas Heat!

Let's Talk Tallow and Texas Heat!

If you’ve ever wondered why your tallow balm might arrive a little softer during the summer months — let’s pull back the curtain.

Tallow is a pure, natural fat — rich in nutrients, soothing to the skin, and free from synthetic stabilizers or waxy fillers. That’s what makes it so good for your body… and also what makes it a little sensitive to heat.

The melting point of tallow sits around 95–104°F — which means it can soften or liquefy if it spends too much time in a hot delivery truck or mailbox. We ship every order frozen from right here in Texas, packed with dry ice and insulated materials to keep it stable on its way to you. But once your package lands on your doorstep, that Texas sun can turn up the heat fast.

Here’s the simple fix: If your balm feels soft or looks a bit melted when it arrives, pop it in the fridge for about 30–60 minutes. It will resolidify - no harm done, and none of thee nourishing benefits are lost. And if you miss that whipped, fluffy texture, you can easily re-whip it with a hand mixer once its firm again!

We care deeply about sending you the cleanest, most effective skincare possible. Every jar is made in small batches, by hand, using only what nature intended. So while the weather might get wild, your balm will always come back to solid once it cools. From our little workshop in Texas to your home — thank you for supporting natural, handcrafted wellness.

Stay cool (and keep that tallow happy). — The Radiant Roots Wellness Team 🤍
